1 Welcome to Vauxhall Motors FC Community Sports, a not for profit registered company established in 2012 by the football club to use the power of football and sport to inspire and engage people in worthwhile activities. The main approaches of our work encompass education; social inclusion; health & well-being; and Football/Sports delivery & development. We have made significant progress since our Head of Community took on the role to develop the community programme in September Since then, we have run a successful Mascot Project involving a number of schools in the Ellesmere Port area; delivered a level 2 BTEC award to 6 young people not in education employment or training (NEET); delivered after school and lunchtime sports clubs to schools in Ellesmere Port and Chester; established mini-kickers, disability, and girls only football classes; engaged with over 1000 young people aged between 4 and 18 years old; employed 2 full time staff and other part time staff (to date); gained grant funding from the Football Conference Trust and Awards for All; developed and implemented a partnership agreement with University Church of England Academy (UCEA); as well as delivered numerous holiday soccer and dance camps. We aim to continue the good work already carried out and grow the community programme over the coming months and years ahead, working with our key partners to achieve our goals. Key developments for 2013 include delivery of PPA cover and PE provision to schools as well as developing a football academy in partnership with UCEA, and the delivery and assessment of apprenticeship programmes. Our overall aim is to create a sustainable community programme working with as many people and organisations within the Ellesmere Port, Wirral, and Chester areas on a variety of innovative projects based around our 4 approaches of education; social inclusion; health & well-being; and Football/Sports delivery & development. 2 This is our main service we offer to schools and nurseries. We offer a bespoke package meeting all individual requirements. This could be hourly provision; half days provision to five full days provision, dependent on the size and opportunity within each school or nursery. We aim to fit into your existing school routine with minimum disruption to the timetable VMFCCS recruits the highest qualified and experienced staff to provide outstanding education. Overview of this service: Delivery of National Curriculum for Physical Education through the pupil premium funding (see next page). Staff that work with your school all academic year and become part of your team Full planning folder with all lesson plans relevant to all ages & abilities Assessments completed on all classes of children with attainment levels for each area of PE identified & documented Termly observations each academic year on all staff Copies of observations are sent to schools & nurseries Guaranteed cover if our staff are sick or absent Parents Evening stand to talk about pupil progress Sports Days & Event support VMFC Mascot appearance for assemblies & special occasions The extra mile, always striving to improve Clubs are tailored to all children s ages & abilities and follow the relevant schemes of work for each sport. Our main aim is for children to have fun & progress. Ratios KS1 per coach 1-20 KS2 per coach. After School Clubs can be1 Hour or 1 Hour 30 mins. Breakfast Clubs: VMFCCS offer the following breakfast club options: Breakfast Sports Morning Fun Fitness Breakfast Clubs can be 30 mins or 45 mins Lunchtime Clubs: VMFCCS offers... Specialist sports coaches offering supervised and structured sports and non-sports games & low level activities. Informal CPD opportunities for school staff. After School Clubs: VMFCCS offer a wide range of sports and activities for after school clubs (see our Sports and Activities Menu) Choose the Multi Sports Option a combination of sports to make your own unique course each term or half term. We will signpost your pupils to local teams to facilitate development and exit pathways. 3 School Sport Pupil Premium Funding SCHOOL SPORT PUPIL PREMIUM FUNDING Funding is available to all schools in England for academic years & to support their schools sports delivery. From September 2013, your school will be given 8,000 plus 5 per pupil, to provide new and substantial sports delivery to improve the quality of PE for all the children. This funding can enable your school to hire specialist and qualified sports coaches and sports educators to deliver PE as well as extra-curricular clubs, and to train your staff to deliver in the future. Vauxhall Motors FC Community Sports Aims to place specialist coaches/educators in to schools to deliver the PE curriculum to pupils where our coaches will inspire and motivate pupils. Some schools already cover the PE element of the national curriculum through PPA cover (which we also provide) and may wish to continue with this. However, this funding provides a new opportunity for schools to deliver PE, fully funded. Vauxhall Motors FC Community Sports are excited by this development and the benefits it will provide for the children in primary schools in and around Ellesmere Port, Wirral, and Chester areas. We see it as part of our role in the community to help schools deliver first class PE and sport in a sustainable and cost effective way, as well as building long term relationships and partnerships together. As a not-for-profit organisation, we offer excellent service from fully qualified and experienced staff, at significantly less cost than private commercial sports coaching companies. How could this funding work for your school? School size of 200 (1 form entry) Funding available for = 9,000 1 Sports Coach/Educator = 105 per day ( 120 to include breakfast or after school club / 130 for both / 115 to include just lunchtime club / or 135 for breakfast, lunchtime, and after school clubs) 39 weeks of delivery with 2 days of PE coaching = 8,190 PE Coaching with Extra Curricular club (x 2) = 9,360. 4 What qualifications do our staff have?* All VMFCCS undergo a full and comprehensive internal training programme that involves working alongside current staff. All staff have attained the following minimum criteria:- 12 Months experience working in a school environment Clear CRB Enhanced Check (updated annually) Child Protection / Safeguarding Certificate 1st Aid Certificate Full Previous Employment History Checks & References NGB Qualified Lead Coaches at Level 2 in at least one sport NGB Qualified in at least one other sport to level 1 NGB Qualified Assistant Coaches at Level 1 All staff attended Gymnastics Teacher Course Please note: Other coaches bring with them a wealth of experience and qualifications such as degrees in sports coaching, qualified teachers, tutors, and so on enabling our service to take a holistic approach to education through sporting delivery. What else can VMFCCS do for your school?* Grant Funding: VMFCCS staff are experience at researching, identifying, and applying for external grant funding that could benefit your school. For example, you may want to start up a new breakfast club but don t have the funds and have a high percentage of free school meals. We can apply for funding on your behalf to get the club started and running. Ticketing Initiatives: VMFCCS is committed to engaging young people in our community, especially the school children from schools we work in partnership with. Through this partnership, we would be delighted to offer regular free tickets to your school children with heavily discounted rates to accompanying Adults.

6 VMFCCS Partners Vi-ability are our main partner in delivering our work to the community. They offer key strategic advice as well as acting as board members and directors. We are proud to work with an award winning social enterprise such as vi-ability The Football Conference Trust are a key partner and provider of funding enabling us to finance and deliver our community projects. The Big Lottery Fund is a key provider and partner of our education delivery. Through Aweards for All funding we are able to deliver classes to young people (16-24) classified as NEET. University Church of England Academy are key sponsors of the football club and the community programme. VMFCCS works closely with the academy to establish enrichment opportunities for students.
