6 Things to Take Away from Today You are an integral part of the success of our program The State Referee Committee is committed to improving its communications, instruction, assessment and accountability processes MDCVASRP continues to produce outstanding referees at the highest levels, but there is room for improvement Support for the SRC and Area Staffs will continue to make MDCVASRP a model program for the U.S.

MLS Referees are having more and more pressure put on them to have consistency across referees Owners and coaches challenge almost every decision after a match US Soccer has established a command center that evaluates matches in real time and after the fact to understand the variability across the referee program and defend calls when needed

23 Challenge to the SRC and the Entire Program Each of us needs to assess our contributions to the program Affiliated leagues/clubs with US Soccer, VYSA and Metropolitan D.C.-Virginia Soccer Association Integration of Assignor, Assessor, Instructor and Administrators in the development of the referee (not just the status quo) Open and Transparent Communications Support of State Referee Committee Stated Goals and Objectives

25 2012 SRC DRAFT Objectives/Goals 2012 Chairman of the State Referee Committee Goals and Metrics Chairman Goal 2012 Applicability Metrics to Measure Success Future Develop programmatic evaluation system for the entire State Referee Committee Improve communications with entire state referee program Establish, maintain and audit the nearly $300,000 annual State Referee Program budget to insure that SRC investments are providing the best value to the dollar invested SRA, SYRA, SDI, and SDA develop internal goals for areas of responsibility Assignors, Administrators, Assessors, Instructors and Referees All budgeted categories of the State Referee Program % defined and evaluated measures at the January 2013 SRC meeting 2. Provide feedback to State Referee Committee members concerning performance of the program no later than December % of SRC Meeting DRAFT minutes published on the web NLT 72 hours after completion of the and program notified via 2.
