3 House Bill 5 Graduation Requirements All students at Klein Oak High School are working towards a Foundation + Endorsement High School Diploma Foundation 22 Credits 5 EOCS Endorsement 4 credits = 26 credits Foundation + Endorsement High School Diploma = College and Career Readiness

A 4-year plan/7 period day allows for 28 credits to be earned. *Algebra 2 earns students the Distinguished Graduation Plan, thus allowing acceptance into the Texas TOP 10% Automatic University Admissions Program. English 1, 2, and 3 must be completed before English 4 may be taken.

8 Pre AP and Advanced Placement Courses These courses are designed to challenge motivated students and prepare them for college level course work Students may choose to take 1 or all their core classes as Pre AP or AP Considerations Moves at a faster pace with a greater emphasis on reading Studying time increases; in some classes at least 1 hour per day Time management Who should think about taking a Pre AP or AP course? You like to challenge yourself academically You excel in a particular subject You are interested in a particular subject You desire to take Advanced Placement in the future You plan on attending a major college or university
