9 Honors Courses Begin in 9th grade Are offered in every academic subject area Prepare students for higher level Advanced Placement (AP) courses Extra grade points are given for honors courses by PYLUSD; however, only some are weighted by the UC/CSU systems

33 World Language Path Level 1 as a Freshman Level 2 Honors as a Sophomore Level 3 Honors as a Junior AP class as a Senior Spanish taken in MS can replace level 1. A student can sign up for Honors if they earned a B+ or higher both years. To be eligible for Honors, a student needs to have earned at least 88.8% in the previous class or have teacher recommendation.
