6 Number 7: Technology Support All schools are on inet, with wireless access Over the last year More than 7,000 new computers installed, with over 45,000 on the PWCS network Almost 700 interactive whiteboards installed, with almost 90% of classrooms now having access BYOD available Divisionwide New for this year PWCS Future Ready integrating technology into instruction Divisionwide bandwidth doubling from 1Gb to 2Gb 6

9 Number 4: Best & Brightest PWCS has approximately 11,000 employees We welcomed more than 800 teachers new to PWCS Almost 90,000 job applications were received this past year including more than 43,000 certified (e.g., teacher) applications 9

10 Number 3: Support Services On the first day of school: 20,500 breakfasts and 54,250 lunches served 798 buses were on the road, and traveled over 55,000 miles More than 60,000 students rode the buses 10

11 Number 2: Celebrating Success All 11 high schools are in the top 10 percent nationwide Washington Post Osbourn Park, Battlefield, Patriot, and Hylton High Schools recognized for being among the best from 21,000 Nationwide, earning Silver Medals US News & World Report 11

12 Number 2 Success continued The 2015 on-time graduation rate for PWCS continued to improve to 91.4% The percentage of PWCS students earning Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, or Cambridge qualifying scores continues to far exceed the national average Parkside MS approved as Cambridge International PD site the 1 st in the nation 12

13 Number 2 Success continued Since , the number of students taking the SAT test has increased by 38% and the number of students taking the ACT test has increased by 59% In , 28% of high school students (grades 9-12) were enrolled in at least one advanced courses (AP, IB, Cambridge) 13

14 Number 2 Success continued 26,145 The number of college credit hours earned by PWCS students in 2016 by earning scores of 3 or higher on AP exams $38,168,075 The amount of scholarship money earned by the PWCS class of 2016, up $7 million over 2015 During the past five years, students have earned $179,349,030 in scholarships 14
