Hey Titans don t miss the Career & Job Fair happening TODAY, March 22 nd during both lunches! Over 30 careers will be represented including Engineer, Professional Chef, Fire Fighter, Probation Officer, Web Designer, Construction Worker, Mechanic, and more! Additionally, there will be a few companies who are looking to hire students. Don t miss out! NEXT WEEK (3/25-3/29) IS SPIRIT WEEK BATTLE OF THE TITANS This year s theme is the Olympics, consisting of the winter and summer Olympic teams. The winter Olympics team will be represented by the Sophomore and Senior classes and the summer Olympics team will be represented by the freshmen and junior classes. This week s spirits days are as follows: Monday, 3/26-Flag/patriotic day (show pride for a nation of your choice) Tuesday, 3/26 superhero day (dress as your favorite superhero) NO MASKS Wednesday, 3/27 Champion/trophy day (show off your childhood trophies and medals) Thursday, 3/28 Workout day (wear your favorite workout attire) Friday, 3/29 Olympic rally day (all titan classes wear red) Other sprite week events: Monday 3/25: opening ceremonies & movie night at 6pm (Cool Runnings) Tuesday 3/26: skate night from 7-0pm, held at Foothills Skate Inn Friday 3/29: Olympic Rally Day! Let the games begin BOYS BASKETBALL Attention all current 9 th 11 th graders planning on playing basketball at Antelope High School this summer and next season. There is going to be a meeting in Coach Dresser s room (L-101) after school (1:40) on Monday, April 1 st. All players should attend, including anyone in a Spring sport. Spring basketball workouts for all players not in a Spring sport will begin the following day, Tuesday, April 2 nd. BATTLE OF THE TITANS T-SHIRTS You can buy your t-shirt in the student store for $12 with/asb and $15 without. Money is due by March 26 th at the student store.

Pick up a CTE Works Course Request Form from the front office and turn it in to Ms. Goudy no later than Monday, March 25th! PENNIES FOR PATIENTS FUNDRAISER Help raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma society! Donate any loose change you have to the white box in your third period class. The goal is $1400 and the winning class will receive an Olive Garden catered party! The fundraiser will go now-april 5 th. Be a hero and donate. CHARMING CHARLIE It is time to get those Prom accessories! Head over to Charming Charlie on Tuesday March 26 th 7-9pm. If you grab a flyer from front office they will donate 10% of your sale to Antelope High School. Also, you will receive a free gift with your purchase. LIBRARY NEWS Titans Showcase your talents in the first ever VOTS (Voice of the Students) digital magazine. We know there is so much talent out there, and we want to publish it. Submit your poems, song lyrics, short stories, zines, movies, and/or art to Mrs. McCoy at jmccoy@rjuhsd.us by March 31 st to be featured in the April edition. Don t forget to participate in Women s History Month. Check out the flyers on campus or Library Happenings on the Library webpage for more info. Think like a queen. A queen is not afraid to fail. Pick up an application at the front office by Mrs. Hardy s desk. The yellow application is to be in the class and the blue one is for an elected position.

3 TITAN BALL Is on April 6th at the Rocklin Event Center from 8-11pm. Doors open at 7:30 and close at 9pm Tickets: Started March 6th- March 29th tickets are $50 w/ ASB and $55 w/out ASB card. April 1st- April 5th tickets are $65 with and without ASB card No Tickets at the Door Guest Passes: You can pick up your guest pass in student services and it must be returned by March 29th by 3:00pm. NO EXCEPTIONS. Dress Code: Information can be found on the student government website For more information about titan ball and dress code please visit: ATTENTION ALL SENIORS!! You MUST pass your personal finance course before being eligible to purchase your ticket! TITAN BALLROOM DANCE LESSONS Want to be a part of a new Antelope tradition? Join us to learn ballroom dancing on April 4 th from 3pm-5pm in the dance studio. Entrance fee is $5. Come be a part of the fun in comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. Hope to see you there! CHECK OUT THESE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR SPRING 2019: Scholarship Opportunity for African American and Minority Students "From Failure to Promise" Essay Scholarship Contest offers an opportunity for high school seniors to earn scholarship money by writing a 1,000 word essay. Students will be asked to describe the challenges they have faced in achieving academic success referencing the book from Failure to Promise: An Uncommon Path to Professoriate by Dr. Cleamon Moorer. The deadline for this scholarship is usually in JULY of each year, and the award amount is usually $500 - $10,000. GLORIA BARRON PRIZE FOR YOUNG HEROES The Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes is open to students aged 8 to 18. Each year the Barron Prize is awarded to 25 students who have made a positive difference to the people in their community and the health of the planet. Award criteria focuses on environmental issues as they relate to people and their communities. Winners receive a $2500 scholarship to be used at the college or university of their choice. Deadline is April 15, 2019.

4 AP COURSE EXAMS You may sign up for your AP Course exams that will be given in May. The cost is $94 for each exam taken. Students that qualify for free and reduced lunch may apply for a student fee reduction, but a form must be filled out and submitted for approval. Forms may be picked up from Mrs. Odd in the Assistant Principals office, and returned there as well for approval. The deadline to sign up for all exams including having your fee reduction forms turned in is March 25 by 3:00 pm. Student Services will be closed March 18, 19, 20. If you have questions, please see Mr. Fernandes. AP TEST WAIVERS! If you are on free or reduced lunch, you are eligible for AP Test Waivers! If you haven t applied for free/reduced lunch yet, the applications are in the front office and if you want to know if you are already enrolled in the program, see Ms. Goudy. Waivers reduce the cost of each test to $15. Pick up your waiver forms from Mrs. Odd in the AP office ASAP! STUDENTS PLANNING TO ATTEND COLLEGE IN SUMMER OR FALL 2019! Make sure you are checking your regularly and have set up any portal/school-specific accounts requested! Many schools communicate ONLY through these accounts and if you do not set them up and check them regularly, you might miss deadlines that are vital to being admitted! Make sure you have sent in SAT and ACT scores to all schools many have deadlines coming up. Some schools will also be requesting transcripts, tax information, and additional documents. See your counselor or Ms. Goudy if you have questions! ONLINE APPLICATIONS FOR SUMMER 2019 Community college classes are now open for both Sierra and American River college. Note, that students also need to meet with their high school counselor to complete the paper portion of the application (advance education form or academic enrichment form). DRESS CODE REMINDER As the seasons change, please be aware of the following dress code reminders: Blankets are not allowed to be carried around or worn as outerwear while on campus, printed pajama pants are not appropriate school attire, any holes in jeans cannot be higher than appropriate shorts length, beanies must be solid colored, Antelope hats only, and no hoods worn over the head on campus unless it is raining.
