2 Superintendent As I proudly begin my eighteenth year as Superintendent at Conestoga Valley School District, I can reflect on a multitude of accomplishments over the years that we, as a team, have achieved. Indeed, there have been challenges and changes, but we have always faced them together and moved forward, stronger and better from the setbacks. This school year will not be without its challenges and changes. However, as a district and community team, we will face them together, taking Conestoga Valley to an even higher level in our history. In some of our new district marks, you will see the forward-moving star, a symbol that continues to remind us of the three important themes in our district motto. You will also notice in our new district seal three forward-moving stars, which represent those themes of Character, Community, Commitment. Those symbols also represents Conestoga Valley s status as a rising star among school districts in our county, state, and even our nation. Last year, for the third year in a row, Conestoga Valley was cited by U.S. News and World Report as among the best high schools in the nation. Please take the time to read our new mission, vision, and belief statements. As we begin yet another highly successful school year, it is important to remember our past achievements, but we must also continually refocus on our rising star and the challenges and changes that lie ahead. If we continue to work together as a team, there is nothing we cannot accomplish. Best wishes for another safe, healthy, and rewarding academic year. Go Buckskins! Sincerely, Gerald G. Huesken, Ed.D.
