5 Profile of a Cresskill Graduate Survey Your responses will provide us with information to evaluate the educational priorities and interests of the faculty, students, and families in our school. Our resulting work will develop the Profile of a Cresskill Graduate. This Profile will serve as the guiding principles of curriculum, instruction and assessment work moving forward. This work will develop agreed-upon outcomes for our graduates, and we will purposefully plan for, teach to, and assess these competencies of a 21st-century education.

Parent Portal for Scheduling will be available on Friday, 3/8. Individual appointments to meet with HS Counselor will also be ed on Monday, 3/4; appointments will begin on 3/18.

21 SCHEDULING DEADLINES 03/04/19- Scheduling Appointments will be ed home by counselors; please notify counselor that parent/guardian will be attending the meeting for security purposes. 03/08/19- Parent Portal will open to select classes. 03/18/19-03/29/19- Scheduling Appointments (about minutes). 04/12/19- Last day to request a change to an elective class by 3pm. 06/21/19- Last day to request a change to an elective class by 12pm. 07/18/19 - Last day to request a change for an academic core class by 3pm. All changes after this date will not take place until approximately September 20th and will only happen with teacher and supervisor approval and your grade will be impacted.

26 High School Profile- Make it Count Academic Performance- HS Transcript includes all classes with only the final average posted. Attendance- Class credits can be lost in a class if a student exceeds 9 absences in a semester; if the class is a graduation requirement, the student must enroll in the class to make up the credits. 31 Transitioning into High School for students with IEPs and 504 Plans Our goal is to prepare students with IEPs and 504 Plans to advocate for their learning and to transition each student over time to prepare them for their future. Accommodations and modifications in IEP/504 will continue as students transition to HS. Accommodations and modifications in IEP/504 will continue on state-mandated assessments. Education beyond HS does not provide the same level of support; therefore, as time goes on it is important to provide appropriate opportunities for your child to be able to transition to their college and/or careers.

32 Transitioning into High School for students with IEPs and 504 Plans What does this mean for high school? Students should learn what their disability is and how the accommodations/services help them. We encourage self-advocacy to prepare them for their future beyond CHS. Students and their families should work collaboratively with the guidance and child study team departments to apply for accommodations on national entrance exams and apply for accommodations at the college level. Students with IEPs or 504 in Honors/AP Class are required to complete assessments in one testing period which may require the student to be excused from a portion of another class.

33 Transitioning into High School for students with IEPs and 504 Plans Accommodations for the PSAT, SAT, ACT, AP testing must be approved by the testing company. The testing companies have specific requirements for documentation and may require updated testing to be submitted to the testing company. A specific diagnosis must be documented. The district makes the request for accommodations (with parental permission) and the the College Board (PSAT, SAT, AP) or the ACT Board will grant or deny the accommodations. Students can apply for SATs accommodations as early as 9th grade but can only apply for ACT accommodations when they register for the test.
