1 Please consider becoming involved in one or more of the many committees organized by the Seaford Manor PTA. These committees facilitate the wonderful events held throughout the school year that greatly enrich our children. You can sign up as a chairperson or volunteer for a particular committee by filling in your name in an open slot on the green sheets 1 made available during the first PTA meeting scheduled for 12, Naturally with over seventy different committees, it may be overwhelming to review the multitude of green sheets. Good news! The chart below offers a brief synopsis of each committee 2 and may prove helpful in determining what best suits your schedule or is most appealing. We greatly appreciate volunteers no matter how much time or effort one can provide. You will find the time you devote to Seaford Manor students will not only be well received but is greatly rewarding as well. Meet as necessary and be provided with 3 sealed bids for an upcoming committee to review a bid s appropriateness. Create and decorate a monthly birthday bulletin board. Set up collection area, create flyers, collect and submit to manufacturer for rebate and retain a class tally. Maintain and update Facebook page. round once a month and/or work Work Fifth Grade Coordinators Fifth Grade Yearbook Fifth Grade DVD Coordinate 5 th grade activities throughout the year with teachers and cochairs of all 5 th grade functions. Complete a yearbook for the 5 th grade students through several meetings. Create an eight minute DVD of the 5 th grade students for and work. 1 A Green Sheet is a form printed for each committee that offers a detailed explanation of that committee and allows space for an individual to list his/her name as a chairperson or general volunteer. 2 This description briefly identifies the purpose of the committee. The responsibilities, particularly those of a chairperson as opposed to a volunteer, are fully specified on the appropriate green sheet. 3 A committee may require multiple tasks that can be divided among the chairperson(s) and volunteers.

Create a t-shirt for the 5 th grade students to distribute at the Nov. 5 th Grade Thanksgiving Celebration Create a banner that represents the Seaford Manor School at the Homecoming parade. Help create themed tee shirt for the current school year, place orders and distribute shirts. Replenish and maintain the recess bins for the children to use during indoor recess days. Secure a DJ and arrange an ice truck. Organize and assist during photo day, including retakes. Fall & Spring & and work. Work Work Autumn Classic Distribute water. Organize gala, supervise all gala related committees, retain detailed records, create flyers & invitations, etc. Solicit merchandise and donations for raffle prizes from vendors and local merchants and keep track of all donations. Help organize community blood drive and poster contest with NY Blood Center. Create a budget for the school year. 1) Literacy : Lead the children to their rooms and help them with their craft after the reading experience. Organize a fun night of activities for Manor and Harbor 5 th grade Organize the sale of flowers and assist students in purchasing flowers for the special women in their lives. Organize a book fair and assist students in purchasing books at discount prices. Organize an event to honor the special person or senior, set up hospitality for the senior/special person and escort senior/special person to the classroom. Organize a luncheon for Mano teachers and Staff. Coordinate with the Harbor School chairs on a date that works for both schools, distribute flyers for a presale of bracelets, and pick up bracelets for distribution at school. Organize the 5 th Grade graduation ceremony and offer snacks and water to the 5 th grade students afterwards.
