1 Everett Ebbie Fees Benny Pierce 1939 FOOTBALL, BASKETBALL, BASEBALL, TRACK Earned a total of 14 Block Letters. He is considered one of the greatest athletes ever to attend LGHS. During his four years he played all four of the major sports every year, failing to earn a Block his sophomore and senior years of baseball only because the team did not win enough games to qualify him. Fees started his football as a 130 pound fullback and was the mainstay of the varsity team his junior and senior seasons. He was the point guard on a championship basketball team his senior year. He played third base, shortstop, outfield and pitcher on the baseball team. In track he put the shot, pole vaulted and high jumped FOOTBALL, BASKETBALL, BASEBALL, TRACK A four-sport athlete who earned 12 Block Letters. In football he was a tailback, quarterback and defensive back, earning second team all league honors as a senior. Was the point guard for four seasons of basketball winning the 110 championship as a freshman, the 120 championship as a sophomore and the varsity championship his senior year. Played four years of varsity baseball and named second team all league as a senior. In Track and Field he placed in the league in the pole vault, and also competed in long jump, sprints and shot put.
2 Wayne Hopp Jr CROSS COUNTRY, BASKETBALL, TRACK Top runner on the Wildcat Cross Country team for four years. Held all three of the school s cross country records (Freshman, Sophomore and Varsity) when he graduated from LGHS. League Champion on Freshman and Sophomore teams, setting course records. Was the #1 runner on the Varsity cross country team his junior and senior years, setting the course record his junior year. Played 3 years of Varsity basketball, and was named team MVP and 1 st team All-League as a senior while scoring 413 points. Held the school record in the 2-mile (9:55.2) and the 600 and was 4 th all time (4:32.6) in the mile when he graduated.
3 Monica Daley-Townsend 1986 CROSS COUNTRY, TRACK Maybe the best Cross Country runner in history. Set the School Record at Crystal Springs (CCS Course) that held for 27 years. Set the school record at Woodward Park (State Course) that held for 25 years. All-CCS and All-State in Cross Country 3 straight years: 1983, 1984, and Cross Country team MVP and #1 runner on 3 straight CCS Championship teams and 2 consecutive Nor-Cal Championship teams. Still holds the fastest Soph. time in LG history in the 3 mile and 5000 meters. Coached Cross Country at LGHS for 7 years, including the 2006 team that broke all the team school records.
4 Jason Drotar 1989 FOOTBALL, BASKETBALL, BASEBALL Played three years of varsity baseball. First team All CCS in baseball his senior year, when he was Co-MVP of the De Anza Athletic League. Set the All-Time record, batting an incredible.521 in league his senior season. Was an All-League selection as a tight end in football his senior season when the Wildcats won the CCS football championship. Was also the placekicker on the football team and kicked a 43 yard field goal (a record at the time) to win a game his sophomore year. Was named the Male Outstanding Athlete at LGHS his senior year. Coached baseball at LGHS for 4 years, helping the Wildcats win the first CCS title in baseball in school history.
5 Nicole Tremain 1990 SOCCER, SWIMMING, TRACK Four year Varsity Soccer player. Senior year of soccer she was All-CCS, MVP of the De Anza League and MVP of the Los Gatos team that won the school s first ever CCS championship. She scored both goals in the Wildcats 2-1 win over St. Francis for the CCS title. Led the De Anza League in assists and scored 16 goals herself in her senior year. Was named Times-Tribune Player of the Year Played soccer at Stanford and participated in the NCAA tournament.
6 Mike Warren 1993 FOOTBALL, TRACK As a football player Mike was a three-year varsity starter at right guard. Was twice named first team All-League. Two-time first team All-CCS, possibly the only Los Gatos lineman ever to win this distinction. Named outstanding lineman on Varsity football team both his junior and senior seasons. Named the Outstanding Offensive Lineman in De Anza Athletic League his junior year and Outstanding Lineman in the league his senior year. All Northern California and All State in football his senior season. Was the Track and Field MVP his senior season Varsity League Discus Champion. Two-time CCS Discus Finalist. Best throw of is still #10 on the All Time List
7 Jason Carlton 1994 FOOTBALL, WRESTLING Was a 4-year Varsity wrestler. Placed 2 nd in the De Anza League as a freshman, sophomore and junior. Was SCVAL Champion his senior year. His senior season he set the school record for most wins in season (46) and 25 of those were by pin. Finished third in CCS and in the Top 12 at the State Meet his junior year. Finished second in CCS and was a top 16 finisher at the State Meet his senior season. In football, he was an All-League center his senior year. Started at center on football team his junior and senior years, helping win a league championship his junior season. Played noseguard on defense and led team in sacks his senior year
8 Heather Hennessey-Howell 2001 CROSS COUNTRY, TRACK All-American National 800 Meter Champion in Had the fastest American time in the 800 for the entire 2000 season All-League, All-CCS, All-State in the 800 meters, running the fastest 800 meters in CCS since years. When she won the National 800 meter race she beat 9 other state champions. School record in the 800 meter CCS 800 Champion. School and CCS record in the 4X800 relay and set the school record in the 1600, and still ranks 4 th all time in LG history. 5 th fastest 400 split in school history. All-League Cross Country runner.
9 Robert Crowder 2001 WATER POLO, SWIMMING First Team All-League in Water Polo his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. Was 1 st Team All CCS in Water Polo as a junior and senior. #9 on LGHS Top Guns list with 118 goals his senior year. In Swimming was a 9 time All American, 6 times first team in 1999 and A four time CCS Champion including winning the 100 backstroke his sophomore, junior and senior years. His 100 backstroke time of was the fastest public school time in the nation in Held 4 LGHS school records, the 100 backstroke and 200 free relay still stand. Swam 4 years for Arizona State University, qualifying for the Olympic trials in 2004.
