12 Changes at National Level Last September A level specifications began a national change. All A level subjects will see change over three years. A small number remain with AS and A2 from 2016 whilst most shall have changed. We continue to enter students for AS examinations, however if taken to A2 only the linear end of two year result shall count. Changes to assessment in BTEC This is outlined in the Prospectus and shall be updated regularly on our website.

14 What grades do I need to get? Academic Pathway Overall Requirements For Sixth Form Entry e.g.4alevels throughtoyear13or3alevelsandoneas(aslevel taken at the end of Year 12) + Extended Project leading to the AQA Baccalaureate. Entry Criteria: 5 GCSEs grades A*-C including English and Maths plus entry criteria for each subject. Mixed Pathway e.g. 3 A Levels + One BTEC taken in Year 12 or 2 A Levels and 2 BTECs. Vocational Pathway Entry criteria: 5 GCSEs grades A*-C(preferably including English and Maths) plus entry criteria for each subject e.g. 3 BTECs and Work Experience Entry Criteria: 4 GCSEs grades A*-C, plus entry criteria for each subject.re-sitenglishandmathsgcseifgradesarenotcorabove.

19 Summary of entry criteria for each subject available in the Prospectus Subject Equivalent Value Minimum Grade for course Additional Information Phase of change Art BTEC National Extended Certificate (Year 12 only awards Certificate) 1 A-Level 4 GCSEs of Grade C or higher 1 of which is Art. BTECs Art underwent change in 2014 to ensure parity between A- Levels and BTEC s. AQA Baccalaureate Awarded: Pass, Merit, Distinction, based on final A2 results. This qualification will be offered to students at the start of Year 12 who have achieved a GCSE average point score of 6 and above. The qualification incorporates a students A-Level choices and adds an AS course in Citizenship, an Extended Project and an Enrichment Diary. In addition, students must study three full A- Level options. Biology A-Level 1 A-Level 5 GCSEs which must include: BB in Core and Additional Science OR BB in Triple Award Science AND B in Maths. Not suitable for students who have studied Level 2 BTEC Applied Science or Applied Science GCSE. Started new specification September 2015
