3 Sub: Monthly Status Report on Public Awareness & Outreach Program conducted at Rawatbhata Rajasthan Site in September Public awareness and outreach programs are being organized at RR Site to create awareness about Nuclear Power among students, teachers, government officials, public representatives and public at large. Information on topics like, Nuclear Energy - safe and clean source, Nuclear Energy - an inevitable option for development of nation etc. are disseminated through these programs. Eighteen Public awareness & outreach programs and one public awareness journalists workshop was organized in the month of September-2018 covering 801 persons in total, which included students and teachers from various schools & colleges, various government employees, general public, local media journalists and family members of NPCIL employees. Rawatbhata Rajasthan site has organized a one-day workshop and plant visit for local journalists on 25/09/2018, under the public awareness program. A lecture was arranged about Atomic Energy and Radiation at NTC conference room for 20 numbers journalists. After the welcome, Sh. V K Jain, Site Director, RR Site addressed to the journalists and said that meaningful journalism is very important in democracy. NPCIL and quality construction are interconnected and NPCIL is fully committed for quality construction and continuous safe operation of operating reactors. In the last year, the capacity factor of the Rajasthan Atomic Power stations has been more than 90 percent. Intensive training is given to the maintenance and operation personnel before licensing and of operation and quality maintenance. He said that all the power stations of NPCIL are performing well because of the excellent training and safety standards. The site director conveyed that the work of RAPP-7 & 8 is going on smoothly. The criticality of RAPP-7 is to be achieved by March A visit of Simulator, RAPS-3&4 and RAPP-7&8 was also arranged for media personals. All visitors were informed about the important aspects of nuclear power with the help of models, exhibitions and movies in the Information Center of Nuclear Training Center. Escorted plant visits were also organized. It helped in enhancing awareness on Nuclear energy generation and radiation aspects among the visitors. 700 nos. Parmanu Urja magazine was distributed among the different visitors. Summary of public awareness visits at RR Site in the month of September-2018: S.
