Superintendent s Recognition and Updates NEOLA release on Gifted Education and Identification Policy (2462) Hearing of the Public There were no requests for public participation TREASURER S REPORTS Financial It is recommended that the financial statements for the month of July be approved as presented by the Treasurer It is recommended to appoint Debbie Reynolds as delegate to the OSBA Annual Business meeting and Ryan Lee as alternate. Scholarship Fund Mr. King Yes Mr. Lee Yes Mrs. Davis Yes SUPERINTENDENT S RECOMMENDATIONS & REPORTS Consent Agenda It is recommended that bus routes as prepared by the Transportation Coordinator be approved for the school year and authorizing the superintendent or his designee to make changes to bus stops/routes as needed. It is recommended that the Transportation Handbook be approved for the school year. (No changes from the school year) It is recommended that the Wood County Substitute Teacher & Aide List and all subsequent revisions be approved for the school year. It is recommended that approval be granted for participation in the National School Lunch Program for the school year. It is recommended to continue the student athletic drug testing program at board expense for the school year, as defined in the Athletic Code of Conduct. It is recommended that membership to the Ohio Small & Rural Schools Collaborative be approved for $200 for the school year. It is recommended that the changes to the Student Athlete Code of Conduct be approved beginning with the school year. Fees may be paid, upon which, schedules and locker assignment will be distributed Yearbooks will be available for pick-up on First Night. See Ms. Lotycz Classes begin on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 Welcome, New Staff o Jill Peters, High School Secretary o Katie Bryant, HS Guidance Counselor o Audra Benschoter, Guidance Secretary o Jason Scott, Instrumental Music Director o Candace Rothenbuhler, Intervention Specialist o Greg Bishop, Director of Technology Middle School The Middle School is preparing for the opening of the school year A letter went out to all households detailing the specifics and importance of First Night which is Monday August 21 st. New staff is as follows: o Sarah Polter-special needs teacher The middle school is not mailing out big informational packets this summer but instead will have them available for parents at First night in their students home rooms

6 Building Reports Middle School continued We are in the middle of collaborating on how to successfully implement the one to one program with Chromebooks Elementary Changes with enrollment are occurring almost daily at each of the grade levels. Teachers have been busy preparing their rooms for First Night on August 21. Fall pictures are August 28. Legislative Update Board Member Comments The next Board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 6:00 pm Executive Session: Time 6:33 p.m. Superintendent Borton requested that the Board go into Executive Session to consider the employment and compensation of a public employee Return from Executive Session: Time 7:33 p.m. President King certified that the Board did discuss the above aforementioned executive item.
