4 PLANNING FOR HIGH SCHOOL Schedule: High schools have 7 credits per year. Credits: Students must earn 26 required state credits in order to graduate. High school credits are earned by semester. 0.5 credit is earned for 1 semester (1 year = 2 semesters) 1.0 credit is earned for a full year Example: English IA = 0.5 credit in the fall semester English IB = 0.5 credit in the spring semester Total of 1.0 credit for English I

5 GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS Students must meet the following requirements to graduate and earn a CCISD Diploma: Complete the requirements for: The Foundation High School Program (22 credits) Parent approval required after 10 th grade OR Foundation High School Program with an Endorsement (26 credits) OR Distinguished Level of Achievement with an Endorsement (26 credits) Must include Algebra II Meet State Assessment Requirements (STAAR EOC) EPG pgs

42 Planning for High School Choose courses carefully! Schedule changes at the high school are for data mistakes or course errors only. Verification letters will be mailed home in April. Changes may be made up until May 6, 2016.

43 Remember Once the student s course selections have been verified and the May 6, 2016 deadline has passed, changes will not be allowed. Schedules will be created to match requests as much as possible. Course selection cards are due back to the Intermediate Counselors by Monday, February 22 nd!
