1 2015/2016 ANNUAL REPORT PROTECTING SCHOOLS SINCE 1986
2 From the WSRMP Executive Board Chair WSRMP FY Highlights You may notice that there is a new look and feel at WSRMP. WSRMP has been rebranded with a new logo and refreshed website. There is a new, robust claims system in place. Three key staff positions have been filled Charles Urchurch was promoted to Deputy Executive Director, Gerald Martens was promoted to Director of Risk Management, and Dana Grandey was hired as Director of Claims. What was most heartening about the new feel at WSRMP is management s commitment to listen to members. We appreciate the efforts made to seek member input on the upcoming Risk Assessment Survey to make it a more effective loss control tool. In her second year as Executive Director, Deborah Callahan continues to make improvements for the membership. She initiated several coverage improvements, including: Liability limits raised to $40M Builders Risk Coverage raised to $300K Investigation Coverage raised to $20K per occurrence A limited lead defense endorsement This past year, your Board completed strategic planning and tailoring coherent governance. To help ensure adequate funding, we also set an equity target policy so the Pool would be prepared to absorb a 1-in-100 year event. Due to the Pool s past funding, members enjoyed flat rates for 2016/2017. And the Pool continues to grow, adding San Juan Island School District this year, WSRMP now protects 123 Washington school districts. Loy B.
