7 New Science Course Names Living Earth (Biology) Chemistry in the Earth System Physics in the Universe No more Earth Science or Chemistry in the Community Current 11th graders needing to make-up a failed semester or year of Earth Science, or that still need to take a year of Earth Science for original credit, can do so by going to summer school or the Learning Center.
8 HHS Online Course Requests via Parent Portal Deadline February 9, 2018
9 Login to Parent Portal If you don t already have a portal account: Go to Click Create New Account. Complete the information requested to create your account. You need 3 pieces of information to create an account, the student ID, telephone number and Verification Code. The verification code can be obtained from the message section on your student s last report card or by contacting your student s SLC office to obtain the code. Telephone number needs to be the primary number listed on your student s profile. Questions? Please contact your counseling office
10 A couple of basics before you get started: Grade level required courses have been preloaded online Students with an IEP will use the online process at this time, however, Case Managers will assist you with your paper course request selection. Use your course request sheet as a guide to plan which courses you want to take. * Your transcript has been printed on the back of your form for reference. Refer to the Course Catalog for more detailed information about a course Be mindful of prerequisites and classes that require application and/or audition Choose alternates for ALL elective or non-required classes Make sure you choose enough classes to fill 8 periods * 2 semesters = 1 class period (study hall and unscheduled count as a period too) Questions? 17 Choose enough choices to fill 8 periods (2 semester classes are needed to equate 1 class period) Please use the following for managing specific semester needs: o Drivers Ed: Choose 2820 for 1 st semester, 2830 for 2 nd semester o Staff Assistant: Choose 8010 for semester Only, Choose 8070 for year long o Study Hall: Choose 7685 for semester Only; Choose 7680 for year long o Unscheduleds: Choose 7690 for AM unscheduled (enter 2x s for both days) Choose 7695 for PM unscheduled (enter 2x s for both days) Choose 7698 for Semester only unscheduled Semester classes that can be repeated need to be entered 2x s to indicate you want it for the whole year (i.e, Team Sports, Strength/Fitness, Yoga, Basketball Tactics, Instrumental Studies, etc) Remember to choose an alternate for all elective and non-required classes including o Departmental Electives (i.e, Entomology, Speech & Debate, Creative Writing) o 1st Year Foreign Languages o PE Electives (i.e, Team Sports, Strength/Fitness, Basketball, Athletic Management, Yoga, Bowling) o AP Classes Please refer to your course offering sheets and the course catalog which is located on the website at: ( for additional information in regard to prerequisites and application/audition requirements. A-G and term length is also listed. Follow up with any teacher where teacher application/permission is needed.
