Driver s Education Driver s Education has limited availability, therefore it is given based on birth date; older students receive the class before younger students. Students MUST have their permit by the first day of class. We cannot guarantee which semester you will get the class Those students who do not get into the class are placed on a waiting list, as space comes available we will work down the list If a student does not receive Driver s Education there are options for a summer, private, or online courses or you can register for the course again the following year
CEC Classes TRANSPORTATION TO CEC: Students can meet the Coweta County School Bus that transports students from East Coweta High School to CEC. This bus leaves ECHS at 7:40a.m for CEC morning classes or they can provide their own transportation to CEC. Buses that pick up students at home and bring them to EC do not get here in time to catch the early CEC bus. Students can also be transported by bus to CEC from ECHS at 11:50a.m for afternoon classes. However, scheduling afternoon classes to accommodate bus transportation is not a guarantee. Therefore, students who do not plan to ride a Coweta County bus to CEC should make all appropriate transportation accommodations to suit their individual schedules. Students typically will be at CEC for two blocks; either 1 st & 2 nd or 3 rd & 4 th. On occasion a student could have just 1 st block at CEC.
CEC Classes If you would like to be at CEC all day please write in large letters across the top of your registration form CEC ALL DAY and we will try to accommodate. Work Based Learning Work Based Learning Program Be sure to pick up an application in the guidance office. Complete and return the form to the guidance office. A Work Based Learning representative will contact you to set up a time to interview for the program.

Dual Enrollment What is Dual Enrollment? Dual enrollment is a process through which a high school student takes one or more courses from a state public or private postsecondary institution and receives credit at the high school and at the postsecondary institution. The dual enrollment guidelines vary according to the type of dual enrollment the student is involved in. Information regarding dual enrollment options can be found at Who can participate in Dual Enrollment? Dual enrollment is open to any student who is enrolled in high school, is accepted by a state public or private postsecondary institution, and meets criteria for participation in dual enrollment programs. Students typically begin dual enrollment coursework in their junior or senior year of high school. Students interested in participating in a Dual Enrollment program, should pick up a Dual Enrollment Procedures form from a mentor teacher or guidance counselor. Additional information, along with a PowerPoint presentation can be found at
Credit Recovery If you have failed more than four classes you will not be able to graduate on time without credit recovery. You can pick up a Performance Learning Center or Back on Track Application in the Guidance Office. If you are behind more than 2 credits complete the PLC form, if you are behind 1 or 2 credits complete the Back on Track form. Both forms should be returned to the guidance office Space is limited in both programs, priority is given to students in their 4 th year
GA Virtual School Opportunities The Coweta County School System recognizes the importance of putting technology into the hands of students, and one aspect of this goal is allowing students to work through classes in the online forum of Georgia Virtual School. Log on to for additional information. If you are interested in this avenue of learning contact your guidance counselor.
