2 Problem Solving Tournament CONTEST INFORMATION The Perennial Math Competition is open to school teams, clubs, and homeschool organizations. A team membership is for up to 30 students at one competition level. There are five separate levels of competition: Dear Principal Rookie or (grades Math Resource 3-4), Intermediate Person, (grades 5-6), Advanced (grades 7-8), Apprentice (grades 9-10), and Master (grades 11-12). You are invited to send unlimited teams to the Perennial Math Tournament at Westlawn COST Middle OF PROGRAM School in Tuscaloosa on April 13, The tournament has three separate levels for grades 3-8. The registration deadline is April 5th. T-shirts must be ordered by April 5 th. No late registration will be accepted. 3 Problem Solving Tournament Date of Tournament: Saturday, April 13, 2019 Time: Place: Tournament: Cost: 8:00 AM until 12:30 PM Westlawn Middle School 1715 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd Tuscaloosa, AL Each team is composed of any five students from the same school who are in grades [3-4], [5-6] and [7-8]. A team may have students from different grades-the team will be tested by the highest grade level of the team members. Individual tests will be based on the student s individual grade level. Individual tests have 15 questions in 30 minutes and team tests have 10 questions in 20 minutes. $10 per student (a team is comprised of 5 students- you may have fewer, but individual test scores are added into the team score. ) T-shirts are available for an additional $10. Proctors: One proctor per team is not mandatory, but appreciated. Each testing room has 2 proctors that pass out and take up tests. Proctors also help score tests during intermissions. For more information check out Perennialmath.com. All tournament winners are eligible for National Championships in May.
