1 SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS ***READ THIS BULLETIN VERY CLOSELY*** Classification Counts Schools are listed from smallest enrollment to largest enrollment. The 10 schools that have declared to opt-up are listed on the chart and the 24 schools that are not part of the classification process as they do not field any sports teams, they do not field any team sports, or they do not participate in the post-season are in a separate list at the bottom of the chart. 59 schools have declared UNDECIDED for their classification declaration, and must make a declaration by December 15, Use the declaration form at the bottom of this . If an UNDECIDED school does not submit a classification declaration by December 15, 2009, they will automatically be put in the classification their enrollment places them. There are a total of 387 WIAA member schools that will be part of the classification process for This will result in the following approximate number of schools in each classification when the final percentages are determined on December 15, The number of schools in each classification can change slightly due to ties in enrollment counts. The classifications will be determined by counting from the bottom-up when drawing the classification lines. 2B and 1B would have 62 schools in their classification (16%) 1A would have 65 schools in their classification (17%) 4A, 3A, and 2A would have 66 schools in their classification (17%) WHAT DOES EACH SCHOOL NEED TO DO NOW? 1. Each athletic director will receive an from the WIAA office on December 1, 2009, indicating the initial enrollment data is available on the WIAA Website. Please review this data for accuracy and notify the WIAA office with any errors immediately by replying to this 2. All schools can change their classification declaration up through December 15, This includes the 58 schools that checked UNDECIDED on form 3. Schools who wish to change classification declaration must declare one of two options by December 15 th, 2009: a. Your school will compete in the classification their enrollment places them Or b. Schools MUST declare either (a) or (b) above, schools which are OPTING-UP be sure to indicate classification you are OPTING-UP into. 3.
