4 What is Link Crew? A Transition Program that welcomes Freshmen and New Students to Creekside High School. Activities of Link Crew Freshman Day Assist students the first day of school Activities throughout the school year Beliefs: Students can help students succeed. Positive role models can guide Freshmen to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to high school. Link Crew leaders are mentored students from the Junior and Senior classes.

8 Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) Being part of the PTSO keeps you informed and offers you opportunities to volunteer, to help meet the goals of our A school. There are three steps in becoming involved: 1. Membership 2. Communication/Support 3. Participation
9 Get Connected through PTSO 1. Membership 95% of our funding comes from membership fees and employer matching gifts. Please join! 2. Communication/Support Join us the first Friday of every month at 9:30AM, in the Library for the PTSO meetings. 3. Participation Many opportunities for you to actively participate in events we are involved in, or directly sponsor.

Last year the PTSO funded $24,600 in various activities and projects for the students, teachers and school through: Capital Improvements (Billboard & Courtyard Shade) Link Crew Support Senior Recognition Awards Technology Funding ESE Lifework Student Activities Free Transcript Service Student Club Support Teacher/Staff Appreciation
11 Volunteer Opportunities are Plentiful! GET PLUGGED IN.. Proctoring, Athletic & Band boosters, Academy and Club sponsors, PTSO events, Front office help, Admission gates for events & concessions, Field trips & chaperoning, and many others.

18 School Calendar & Hours The Master Calendar is located on the website. First Day of School August 10 Last Day of School May 24 Hours: Warning Bell - 9:10 AM School Begins - 9:15 AM 1st Lunch 11:40 AM 12:10 PM 2nd Lunch 12:13 PM 12:43 PM 3rd Lunch 12:45 PM 1:15 PM School Ends: 3:45 PM **Weekly early release on Wednesday school ends at 2:45 PM.
19 Attendance Procedures A note is required if your student is. Tardy Needs to be picked up Early Returns from being Absent Riding on a different Bus Notes need to be turned in to the Attendance Clerk no later than 9:15 AM. No student will be dismissed after 3:00 PM during the week or 2:00 PM on Wednesday.
20 Attendance Procedures SICK CHILD DO NOT call the attendance office. DO contact teachers by . When returning, send in a Note for absent period. Pre-Approved Absent Request A Request Form is required. **See website for additional information on the protocol for when a student misses 5, 10 or 15 unexcused days.
21 Medical Information Medication Orders must be completed every school year. All medication must be properly labeled and in original containers. The clinic will be open to accept medication and authorizations on August 2, 4, 8 & 9 from 8:30am- 3:00pm. Medication Authorization and Medical Forms can be found on the website under the parent section.
22 Technology Policy Cell phones are not allowed for general use during school hours. An EXCEPTION to the rule, if a teacher permits it during the course of their class for educational purposes.
23 Emergency Notification & Police Presence What to do in case of an Emergency You will be notified through the School-Wide Emergency Automated Phone System and by . Pay close attention to the instructions given in the message and follow them. Emergency Numbers are pulled from your Student s Emergency and Health Information Form. Make sure your student information is correct. Is there Police Presence? An officer is assigned to the school full-time.

34 Community Service Hours How are they recorded? Students may begin logging their community hours the summer before their freshman year. Hours must be documented and included on letterhead of the place where the hours were served. Verification letters should be submitted to Ms. Ortiz in the Guidance Office.
35 Jacksonville National College Fair Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Prime F. Osborn Convention Center.
