3 October Student of the Month Interests in And out of School: I really enjoy meeting new people and having a good time. I would say math is my favorite subject. I love anything that makes me have to think hard and solve puzzles. I am very involved in extracurricular activities. I am part of student council, which has been a fun time. I am also part of FFA and NHS. I really enjoy doing anything that will benefit others. My favorite thing to do is to make people smile and laugh. Outside of school I attend many sport games and cheer on my friends. I also love to do puzzles and play board games, especially monopoly. Plans after Graduation: I am very excited to be graduating! I am currently enlisted in the Air Force and plan to attend Basic Training in August. I really want to travel and see the world as well as serve my country. I plan to be in the military for at least 6 years and continue to move up in rank. My overall goal is to become special ops or be in the FBI/CIA. Advice on Being Successful: My advice to other students would be to enjoy your school year. I see many students becoming so stressed and it really makes the year go by slow. Have fun and meet new people. Don t be confined to just one group of people because then you don t get to experience the joy others have. Get to know a foreign exchange student because I have many good relationships with ones from previous years. All in all, do your best and make lots of memories because honestly time does fly by. Bittersweet ski club passes for the season are now available. Forms for the passes are available in all school offices. Please turn in your form and payment by November 8 if you would like your ski club card before Thanksgiving Break.
4 Recently the Viking Student Council saw the completion of their "Legacy Project" that started last year. (Every year Council chooses a project that benefits their campus and future Vikings). Council chose to benefit others by choosing Hopkins Elementary School to be the recipient of their legacy focus. They partnered with Midwest Sign, and Mr. VanBonn (Principal at Hopkins Elementary) to provided a large photo mural to compliment the Elephant sculpture by Artist Lori Hough that hangs in the elementary central plaza. The mural and sculpture will serve to prompt future Vikings with mindful ideas in subjects from science to art, and beyond! Pictured are Viking Council members from left to right; Kaitlyn Bluhm, Alison DeGroot, Madison McDonald, Olivia Smit, and President, Shannon Henshaw. along with Elementary Councilmen Left to right Tyler Langlois, Ben Burchardt, and Dexter Graczyk
