Amendment of Sub-Para (i) of Paragraph-5 of Appendix 103 of Bihar Police Manual, The Sub-Para (i) of Paragraph 5 "Written Examination" in Appendix 103 of Bihar Police Manual, 1978 shall be substituted by the following, namely:- "(i) Written Examination.- After collection of application forms, scrutiny of application forms will be done and written examination will be conducted for those candidates whose application forms are found in order. The standard of written examination will be of Intermediate (10+2) of Bihar School Examination Board or equivalent and questions will be of objective type. Written Examination will be of 100 marks. There will be 100 questions in the question paper of two hour duration, in which 01 mark will be given for each correct answer. Each answer book will be in duplicate, out of which one copy will be in the form of invisible carbon copy to be kept reserved with Selection Board." 2. Amendment of Sub-Para (iii) of Paragraph-5 of Appendix 103 of Bihar Police Manual, The Sub-Para (iii) of Paragraph 5 in Appendix 103 shall be substituted by the following, namely: - "(iii) Written examination shall not be the basis of merit list. Written examination shall only be qualifying for the Physical Ability Test." 3. Sub-para (iv) of Paragraph 5 of Appendix 103 of Bihar Police Manual shall be deleted. 4. Amendment of Sub-Para (j) of Paragraph-5 of Appendix 103 of Bihar Police Manual, The Sub-Para (j) of Paragraph 5 of Appendix 103 shall be substituted by the following, namely :- "(j) Age : (i) Minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years age for General category. (ii) Relaxation of 2 years in maximum age-limit for men of Backward classes category and Extremely Backward classes category i.e. Minimum 18 years and maximum 27 years age. 3

4 4 बह र गजट (अस ध रण), 16 म च 2017 (iii) Relaxation of 3 years in maximum age-limit for women of Backward classes category and Extremely Backward classes category i.e. Minimum 18 years and maximum 28 years age. (iv) Relaxation of 5 years in maximum age-limit for men and women of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe category i.e. Minimum 18 years and maximum 30 years age." 5. Amendment of Sub-Para (o) of Paragraph-5 of Appendix 103 of Bihar Police Manual, The Sub-Para (o) of Paragraph 5 of Appendix 103 shall be substituted by the following, namely - "(0) Physical Ability Test.- Total 100 Marks (1) Run : Maximum 50 Marks For Men of all categories.- 1 Mile (1.6 Km) [in maximum 6 minutes] Less than 5 Minutes - 50 marks 5 minutes to 5 minutes 20 seconds - 40 marks 5 minutes 21 seconds to 5 minutes 40 Seconds - 30 marks 5 minutes 41 seconds to 6 minutes - 20 marks For Women of all categories :- 1 Km [in maximum 6 minutes] Less than 5 minutes - 50 marks 5 minutes to 5 minutes 20 seconds - 40 marks 5 minutes 21 seconds to 5 minutes 40 seconds - 30 marks 5 minutes 41 seconds to 6 minutes - 20 marks Candidate taking more than 6 minutes shall be declared fail. (2) Shot Put :- Maximum 25 Marks For Men of all categories :- A Shot Put of 16 Pound will have to be thrown up to minimum 16 feet. 16 feet - 05 marks More than 16 feet and up to 17 feet - 09 marks More than 17 feet and up to 18 feet - 13 marks More than 18 feet and up to 19 feet - 17 marks More than 19 feet and up to 20 feet - 21 marks More than 20 feet - For Women of all categories :- A Shot Put of 12 Pound will have to be thrown up to minimum 10 feet. 10 feet - 05 marks More than 10 feet and up to 11 feet - 09 marks More than 11 feet and up to 12 feet - 13 marks More than 12 feet and up to 13 feet - 17 marks More than 13 feet and up to 14 feet - 21 marks More than 14 feet - (3) High Jump :- Maximum 25 Marks For Men of all categories :- Minimum height 4 feet. 4 feet - 09 marks More than 4 feet and up to 4 feet 4 Inch - 13 marks

5 बह र गजट (अस ध रण), 16 म च 2017 More than 4 feet 4 Inch and up to 4 feet 8 Inch - 17 marks More than 4 feet 8 Inch and up to 5 feet - 21 marks More than 5 feet - For Women of all categories :- Minimum height 3 feet. 3 feet- 09 marks More than 3 feet and up to 3 feet 4 Inch - 13 marks More than 3 feet 4 Inch and up to 3 feet 8 Inch- 17 marks More than 3 feet 8 Inch and up to 4 feet 21 marks More than 4 feet A candidate who has completed the running event in the stipulated time, i.e. within 6 minutes, shall not be declared fail even if he/she does not meet the determined standards in Shot Put and/or High Jump event(s) and such candidate would be awarded Zero (0) mark in the concerned event. Merit list for selection for the appointment to the post of Constable in District and Military Police will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in all the three events under Physical Ability Test, viz. Run, Shot Put and High Jump. In case two or more candidates obtain equal marks in the Physical Test, their inter-se places in merit list shall be determined on the basis of their dates of birth ; and, in case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks in the Physical Ability Test and having the same dates of birth, on the basis of their educational qualifications. Thus, in case of candidates obtaining equal marks, the older candidate and in case of candidates obtaining equal marks and having the same dates of birth, the candidate having the higher educational qualifications shall be placed higher in the merit list. " Remaining eligibility criterion for Constable appointment shall be same as before.
