OR Mechanic or equivalent with 02 (two) years regular service in the appropriate Technical Branch of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. NOTE:- Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Appointing Authority in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified (a) Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Institute or Board with knowledge of English. (b) Should hold National Apprenticeship Certificate issued by National Council of vocational Training in the following trades:- Mechanic, Electronic, Radio Mechanic, Electrician, Instrument Mechanic or equivalent OR Mechanic or equivalent with 02 (two) years regular service in the appropriate Technical Branch of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Same as essential qualification NOTE:- NOTE :- Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Appointing Authority in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified The above mentioned posts are Not Identified Posts for Persons with Disabilities therefore Persons with Disabilities should not apply for these posts.

3 -3-6 Age Limit for Skilled Category Sl No 1A (i) & (ii) above Between 18 and 25 years, applicable to both direct recruits and ex-naval Apprentices with relaxation as under:- (i) Relaxable for Government servants up to 35 (thirty five) years in accordance with instructions OR orders issued by Central Government from time to time in this regard and further relaxable for five years, as in case of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. (ii) Relaxable to ex-naval Apprentices to the extent of the period for which the apprentice had undergone training. NOTE 1:- (i) The crucial date for determining the age limit will be the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates in India (and not the closing date prescribed for those in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of Jammu and Kashmir State, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi subdivision of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands or Lakshadweep). NOTE 2:- (i) In the case of recruitment made through the Employment Exchange, the crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the last date up to which the Employment Exchanges are asked to submit the names. (ii) All age relaxations mentioned above are applicable subject to orders OR Instructions of Government issued from time to time, prior to completion of selection process.

4 7 General conditions:- -4- (a) (b) (c) (d) (e) (f) (g) (h) (j) (k) (l) Qualifications will be considered as on the date of closing of applications and not the closing date prescribed for those in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Ladakh Division of Jammu and Kashmir State, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi Sub Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Island or Lakshdeep. Ex-Serviceman are to produce certificate in support of their claim and meet Government orders for qualifying as Ex-Serviceman SC, ST, OBC candidates are required to produce an attested certificate in the prescribed form issued by Competent Authority not below the rank of Tehsildar / Mandal / Revenue Divisional Officer as prescribed vide OM No 36012/11/93-Estt(SCT) dt 08/09/1993, as mentioned vide No 36033/3/2004- Estt(Res) dt 09/03/2004. In case of OBCs the caste certificate interalia must specify that the candidate does not belong to creamy layer. Original certificate shall not be sent by post. Only attested copies of certificates are to be enclosed with the applications in support of age, educational qualification, caste, experience, etc, and two additional passport size loose photographs. The vacancies shown are provisional and may vary/reduce/increase or even be made NIL without assigning any reason. The Competent Authority reserves the right to select the criteria for short listing the candidates to be called for examination/interview/any other test as relevant The candidate selected will be governed by the provision of the New Pension Scheme as introduced by the Govt of India wef 01 January The department shall not be responsible for the late receipt or non receipt of call letters for test/interview due to delay in postal channel/ transit / any other reason. Only the selected candidates will be informed of their selection in due course after the selection process is completed. Canvassing in any form and / or bringing in any influence, political or otherwise will be treated as a disqualification for the test/post. INTERIM QUERIES WILL NOT BE ENTERTAINED Selected candidates are liable to serve anywhere in India. Those who are willing to serve anywhere in India should only apply The decision of CGM, Naval Armament Depot, Naval Dockyard, Mumbai regarding eligibility or otherwise of a candidate will be final.

5 -5- (m) Persons serving in Government /Semi Government /Government undertakings should apply through proper channel. A copy of No Objection Certificate from their present employer be attached with application. (n) (o) (p) (q) (r) (s) (t) (u) (v) (w) (x) If the number of applications received in response to the advertisement is large and it may not be convenient or possible for the department to test / interview all the candidates, the department may restrict the number of candidates to be called for test/interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of merit in the basic qualification prescribed in the advertisement. Period of probation will be one year. Candidates will be required to undergo written examination and interview as applicable. Unemployed SC/ST candidates are entitled for 2 nd class rail fare as per Govt Rules and the same will be reimbursed by post on submission of certificate of unemployment issued by a Gazetted Officer, and along with original tickets. The candidate must satisfy themselves that they possess the essential qualifications prescribed for the post applied for. Separate application form to be submitted for each post and name of the post applied for should clearly be superscribed on the cover. Applicants who are in Government service should apply through proper channel. The last date for receipt of applications from candidates residing in North Eastern States, Sikkim, J& K, Lahaul & Spiti District and Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Lakshadweep, Andaman & Nicobar Island or abroad is 37 days from the last date of publication of advertisement Application in the prescribed format by the candidate in his/her own hand writing together with attested copies of certificates/testimonials in support of age, educational qualifications, technical qualifications, experience, caste etc showing the particulars as per Performa provided here under should reach GPO, Post Box No 361, Mumbai along with self addressed envelope and two additional photographs by ordinary post only within 30 days from the last date of publication of the advertisement. Applications with insufficient details, no certificates, no photographs, no self addressed envelope, etc will be summarily rejected and no correspondence will be entertained. If a candidate wishes to apply for more than one post and possesses essential qualification, he / she has to forward applications for each post in separate covers.

6 -6- (y) Ex-Dockyard Apprentice School (DAS) Apprentice will be given preference over other candidates scoring the same marks in the competitive examination. (z) Preference among ex-dockyard Apprentice School Apprentice scoring the same marks will be resolved in accordance with the extant procedure viz by consideration of seniority and Date of Birth 8 Instructions to Candidates:- (a) (b) (c) (d) (e) (f) (g) (h) The application form in the prescribed format (neatly typed in A4 sheet) is to be filled by the candidate in his / her own handwriting, in CAPITAL LETTERS only. The envelope containing the application should be clearly superscribed in BOLD CAPITALS on the extreme left corner of the cover with the name of the post applied for and reservation category viz SC/ST/OBC/UR/Ex S/M, as applicable. The prescribed essential qualifications are the minimum and mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for screening test/written examination/ interview and subsequent selection. Eligible candidates working in Government services must submit their application through proper channel along with No Objection Certificate from the Competent Authority. Incomplete application, applications with insufficient details / with other than the format prescribed without attested photocopies of Certificates etc will be summarily rejected without assigning any reason. Candidates are requested to ensure that they fulfill the eligibility conditions before applying for the above post. If the candidate wishes to apply for more than one post and posses essential qualifications, he /she has to forward separate applications for each posts.
