Dr. Mary Fuquay Dual College Courses- What are they? Courses Offered Cost Per Credit Hour Location of Courses- TBHS Limited Seating- Professors are only able to teach 3 courses per semester. Senior students will have priority to these courses. Payment Due Dates- Deadlines are strict so students will be dropped from the course/courses if payment is not received by the SET DEADLINE How credits through MISSOURI BAPTIST transfer to other colleges?
A+ Program- What is the A+ Program- It can provide students with the opportunity to earn a scholarship for tuition to a Missouri Community College or Tech school and scholarships to many Missouri 4 year universities Requirements- 95% attendance, 2.5 GPA, 50 hours of tutoring set up by our A+ office and completed at schools within our district, & a math proficiency requirement. How to Apply- Applications are located in the A+ office Online College Courses- Ms. Kim Jansen A+ and College & Career Counselor Online Courses will be offered through Missouri Southern State University and Saint Charles Community College Where these classes will take place- Courses will be on their schedule like a regular class on the TBHS Campus in the C.A.V.E ACT PREP CLASSES- for JUNIORS
Mrs. Nicole Smith- 11 th Grade Guidance Counselor Scheduling Visits- 11 th grade on Feb. 13 th and 14 th and 10 th grade on Feb. 16 th and 17 th Ac Lab- Visits, checking transcripts and grade checks Credit Recovery- (ELP) Evening Learning Plan Schedule Changes- Only special circumstances Exploring- Naviance, College Visits & Meeting with College Representatives Graduation Requirements
Core Areas TBHS Regular TBHS Gold Scholar English 4 4 Social Studies 3 4 Math 3 4 Science 3 4 Practical Arts 1 1 Personal Finance (additional practical art requirement) Graduation Credit Requirements Fine Arts Physical Ed Health CYV, A+, or MEI 0 1 Foreign Language 0 2 ***General Electives Total ***Once credits in subject areas are met, the remainder falls in the general elective category
Things to know when you check a transcript 31 CREDITS to graduate unless they are a transfer student ( me transfer student names and I will send you what they need) 1.5 Fine Arts- when you look to the right side of the transcript you will be able to see these listed under Fine Arts 1.0 Practical Arts- when you look to the right side of the transcript you will be able to see these listed under Practical Arts 0.5 Personal Finance-when you look to the right of the transcript this will be listed by itself under Personal Finance. 0.5 Health- when you look to the right of the transcript this will be listed by itself under Health 1.5 PE- when you look to the right of the transcript this will be listed under Physical Education 4.0 English-when you look to the right these will be listed under English 3.0 Science- when you look to the right these will be listed under Science
Things to know when you check a transcript 3.0 Social Studies- when you look to the right these will be listed under Social Studies *EVERY student needs a full year 1.0 of AMERICAN HISTORY *EVERY student needs to have passed AMERICAN GOVERNMENT *EVERY student needs to pass both the Missouri and US Constitution test you will find these to the right under all of the credits and each test will list PASSED or be blank; if it is blank they still need to complete this to graduate 3.0 Math- when you look to the right these will be listed under Math Once core credits are met anything the student takes outside of those makes up for elective credits. ELECTIVE CREDITS can be earned by anything
Things to know when you check a transcript Example- John has earned his 3.0 credits in Math but wants to take it his Senior year to have 4.0 credits of Math. That fourth year will use 1.0 credits from his electives but still be listed under Math to reflect the type of class he actually took. What Does the Asterisk Mean? When looking at the transcript if you see a *this indicates a course the student is currently taking but has not received credit for until semester. If the student knows they will pass this course then that credit can be deducted from that subject area and the total needed credits to graduate. IF that subject area requirements have already been met then that credit will be used to deduct credits listed under the electives area and then would also be deducted from the total number of credits needed.
