Entry to the course will be considered on an individual basis. There is no minimum requirement. A course interview is required. Applicants should have at least a double Science grade C or above or a BTEC Merit or above for entry onto the course. Good Mathematics, English and ICT skills (ideally grade C or above at GCSE). 5 GCSEs at grade C or above. At least a Pass at OCR Science National Certificate (4 grade Cs); or a Pass in BTEC Science 2; or grade C or above in Double Science or Triple Science. An interest in the world of Science. Students who have achieved a GCSE Art grade of C or above will normally cope with the demands of this course. More important is a willingness to commit a significant amount of time to work outside lessons which is essential to achieve the range of work required. Students that perform best are those that also take the initiative to visit galleries and art spaces in their own time and have a real passion for the subject. Minimum 5 GCSEs at A*-C with a minimum of a B grade in Biology triple science and a minimum of a B grade in Maths and a B grade in English. Pupils who studied double award science at GCSE should achieve at least an A grade. Minimum 5 GCSEs (must be traditional GCSEs) at A*- C. Must include English and Maths. Must attend a course interview. Minimum 4 GCSEs - D Grade and above.

English and Maths must be included at grade C and above. Candidates must attend a course interview. Minimum of 5 GCSEs at A*-C with a minimum of a B in Chemistry triple science and a minimum of a B grade in Maths. Pupils who studied double award science at GCSE should have achieved at least an A grade. A minimum of 5 A*- C GCSE grades including English (B) and Mathematics (A). If ICT or Computer Science has been studied at KS4 then a minimum grade of B is required. An ECDL grade of Distinction or higher will also be considered. Students should be working towards C grades or above at GCSE. D grades at GCSE and/or Construction BTEC L2. Construction (FT) 3 TOR A grade C in Mathematics is recommended. Core Mathematics AS JTI Grade C or above in Higher tier GCSE Mathematics. At least a C grade in English Literature. A genuine interest in working with children aged birth to 5 years. If this grade has not been achieved then further studies of Numeracy and Literacy will be involved in the timetable. This qualification is for learners aged 14 plus. There are no formal entry requirements although it would be desirable to hold an interest in hairdressing and beauty. 5 A*- C GCSEs preferably including English. History A- JF 5 A*-C (must be traditional GCSEs, including B in History and English). If History has not been studied at GCSE level, 5 A*-C grades including a B in English are required. Students with lower qualifications may access the course depending on their creative abilities. Students are not required to have studied the subject at GCSE. The course is available to anyone who reads music and performs to approximately Grade 5 standard. GCSE Music is not a prerequisite for this course (but it is useful). Grade 5 Theory would be an advantage. There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification and learners are not expected to have any prior knowledge or experience, however an interest in the subject area is advisable. The content level of this qualification would be similar to the study required for GCSE grades A*- C. C grades or above at GCSE including Mathematics and English and/or 2 Motor Vehicle. An ability to play an instrument or sing is essential, along with a basic knowledge of keyboard skills and music theory being an advantage. A commitment to performing. An interest in Musical Theatre. Practical experience in two of the following Drama, Music or Dance. Grade C or above in GCSE English. A willingness to commit to the extra hours necessary for extra-curricular activities, both in school and outside of school. Students must be self-motivated with a keen interest in the creative and innovative aspects of Fashion and Textile Design, taking the initiative to visit galleries and fashion shows in their own time.
