11 FOUR (4) credits required Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II & math related course in FINAL year of high school. Those students who started on the accelerated math pathway are expected to take math all four years of high school. Math related courses (after completing Algebra II) Business Math, Personal Finance, Accounting I & II, **Physics and AP Macro, KCTC courses carrying math credit. ALL must be taken in final year. Course Sequence: *8 th Algebra, (9) Honors Geometry, (10) Honors Algebra II, (11) Pre-Calculus, (12) Advance Placement Calculus or Advance Placement Statistics
12 THREE credits required Must include Biology and Chemistry or Physics Physics can count for math related credit if taken in the senior year and taken only for the math credit (No double dipping). Most Freshmen take Earth Science, Agriculture and Natural Resources, or Biology. As a Freshmen, it is advisable to take either Earth Science or Agriculture and Natural Resources if you received average grades or struggled in middle school science and the science portion of the M-Step.
13 0.5 credit required Students may opt out of PE with completion of 2 years Marching Band or 2 seasons of an MHSAA sport. Waiver forms must be completed and submitted to the Academic Services Office. This course has TRADITIONALLY been taken the Freshmen or Sophomore years.
14 0.5 credit required in Modern Business I Students who received high school credit in Middle School for Modern Business I and are interested in continuing developing their technology skills, we have Modern Business II as well as other Business elective courses see course curriculum guide.
15 0.5 credit required Health Education Health topics include: Nutrition, Physical fitness, Mental Health factors, Substance abuse, and Reproductive health (abstinence) This course has TRADITIONALLY been taken the Freshmen or Sophomore years.
16 ONE credit required Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, Introduction To Theatre through Advance Theatre. Television and CSTV Production, Newspaper, and Yearbook. Industrial Technology (Beginning Woods, General Metals, Machine Woodworking or Home Technology. Intro. to Drawing & Design, Inter. Drawing & Design, Painting & Printmaking, and Sculpture & Ceramics.
17 TWO credits required in the SAME language Currently CSHS offers Spanish and French in a traditional teacher led, classroom style of instruction. Other languages are offered via digital platforms (American Sign Language I&II, German, Japanese and Latin) however, these classes are not appropriate for ALL students. Online learning requires perseverance, self-motivation, technology skills, and grit. New Option: up to 1 credit of a World Language can be fulfilled with an additional VPA credit or CTE program.

19 By Law, the Michigan Merit Curriculum has SOME allowable modifications to the state law diploma bound graduation requirements for general education and special educations students. This information is NOT the final word on PC s, but is a guide. You need to stay tuned-in to the graduation requirements throughout your student s four years in high school.

Adhere to Athletic Handbook: All student-athletes, whether on a varsity (or lower level) sport team or club sport must still adhere to our athletic department guidelines and athletic code of conduct. 45 Our Mission - The Cedar Springs Athletic Boosters is established for the purpose of raising funds for the promotion of all athletic programs governed and sanctioned by the Cedar Springs Public Schools. Providing support to our student athletes through yearly fundraising including. Concessions. Corporate Sponsorship. Annual Wild Game Dinner. Yearly support includes 50% payment of Athletic trainer. Team Rewards for all 21 varsity sports, (Currently $1000) Max Wisner award annually. Student Athlete of the month recognition. Large project funding and coordination Brand new weight room and upgrades to athletic training facilities. Installation of new sound system in gymnasium. How you can get involved?? Parent rep (21 varsity sports) Attend monthly booster meetings information conduit to varsity coach Coordinate workers for concessions and other fundraising 1 Adult home sports pass each year 2 year term Board Member (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Trustee #1, #2, #3) Attend monthly meetings and special meetings; actively participate in all facets and activities for the boosters. Work with the board to facilitate and or lead one of the yearly committees. 1 OK Conference sports pass for all home and away events. All terms are 2 year terms. Open board position to lead concessions committee. (One year Term) Lead concessions team for all functions critical to the operation of the concessions yearly. VOLUNTEER All students need 40 volunteer hours documented by graduation; be the example, show your kids this is an important priority!
