2 SUPER IMPORTANT INFORMATION Important Carpool Reminders Information from your SBDM council In order to clear Beechwood Road in a timely manner please follow the guidelines below for arrival and dismissal: Always pull up as far as you can in the car line Stay in your car Place car seat on the curb side of the car Walk your bike and scooter in cross walks and on school grounds There is absolutely no dropping off or picking up on Beechwood Road. Please pass this information on to grandparents or anyone who is picking up in the carpool line. 6 th Grade Boys Basketball Open Gym MESSAGE FROM COACH GOETZ Due to the large turnout for middle school open gym we have had to make an adjustment. 6th grade boys basketball open gyms will be on Saturday mornings from 9am-10:30am. All are welcome to attend. The open gyms during the week will only be for 7th and 8th grade. All meetings are open to the public and are usually held the 1 st Wednesday of the month at 3:15 in the elementary conference room. All agendas and minutes are posted outside of the elementary office. 3 SUPER IMPORTANT INFORMATION The yearbook staff needs your help. The 2016 District yearbook will be arriving this week and will be delivered Thursday at the end of school to every student who ordered one. We try to get to as many different events as possible but we cant be everywherej. So many parents take great pictures of Beechwood students and their friends at school events, sporting events and just hanging out. We would love to include some of these great shots in the elementary yearbook. That way the yearbook can capture all the memories of the school year. It is easy to share them-all you have to do is them to the yearbook advisor, Dawn Norris. You can do this all year long by ing to Thanks for your help with this-happy picture taking. If you have any questions feel free to her also. Any student wanting a book but that did not order a book can purchase one in the high school office for $55.00 on a first come first serve basis until the few extra books are sold out starting Thursday after school. They will be also be available Friday before school and after school. The 2017 Beechwood District yearbooks and 2017 Elementary yearbooks will be going on sale at the end of this month so be on the lookout for ordering details. PICTURE DAY IS COMING!! You will also be able to purchase additional items with your child s artwork on it Christmas ornaments, coffee mugs, tote bags and magnets etc. Information will come home with the stickers in early October. Purchases will arrive in time for the holidays and make wonderful gifts! Items available are on display outside the elementary art room. 7 SUPER IMPORTANT INFORMATION BEECHWOOD ELEMENTARY ACADEMIC TEAM INFORMATIONAL MEETING Tuesday, September 20 at 3 PM Elementary Science Lab. The Elementary Academic Team is comprised of 4th and 5th grade students. The team competes in "jeopardy" style team competitions. Tryouts will be held on Thursday, September 22 and Tuesday, September 27. If you are unable to attend the meeting and would like information, please contact Norine Sullivan at norine.sullivan@fuse.net. DC CHAPERONE MEETING WHEN: WHERE: Tuesday Sept 20 TH at 6pm Cafeteria All parents who are signed up to go on the DC trip please plan to attend this important meeting. REMINDER 6 th Graders must turn in an updated immunization certificate and physical form. These forms need to be turned in as soon as possible.

9 SATURDAY, October 1, 2016 AT 8 A.M Join us on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Beechwood Independent School for a 5k Run/Walk and kids fun run to benefit Beechwood PTSA. This is the main fundraiser for the year that will fund programs such as Cosi on wheels, Cultural Arts Program, KY Kids Week, High School Scholarships, Teacher Scholarships, Kindergarten Meet and Greet, Senior Graduation Reception, Teacher Appreciation Week, AR Store, After Prom, Teacher Supply Allowance, Junior High Dances, Mother/Daughter, Father/Daughter, Father/Son, Mother/Son, and more. Run/Walk The Beechwood Tiger Trail to show your support! Course: Scenic 3.1 mile race on paved paths through beautiful Ft. Mitchell. The kid s fun run will be around the football field track. Awards: First and Second place awards will be given for top two male runners and walkers and to the top two female runners and walkers in each age group. Pre-Registration: $25.00 for Tiger Trail 5k or $15.00 for Tiger Trail fun run (3rd grade and below). Registrations must be received by Friday, September 15, 2016 to receive a Tiger Trail T-shirt. Registration after September 15, 2016: Same prices, but does not include a Beechwood Tiger Trail T-shirt.
