1 Dr. Joe Manjone, Chair, is the current President of Waldorf College in Iowa. For ten years previous to that he served as Executive Vice President of Columbia Southern University in Orange Beach, Alabama. He has also worked as an athletic administrator and professor at Penn State, Frostburg State and the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and as a regional director of sports for the U.S. Army in Europe. Joe has been a high school sports official since 1959 when he started officiating high school soccer in Pennsylvania. He also officiated other high school sports including baseball, softball, basketball, football, volleyball, wrestling, track and field and swimming. Dr. Manjone has been the Soccer Rules Interpreter and Soccer Championship coordinator for Alabama since He served on the NFHS rules committee from 2000 to Manjone also officiates college soccer and has been a member of NISOA since He was a Regional Director for NISOA from 1980 to 2000, and also served as the Historian for that organization while Regional Director. Manjone was named the NISOA High School Official of the year in Bill Johnson, Section 1, has been part of education at Silver Lake for 35 years. He was a biology teacher for 25 years and during that time, developed the Advanced Placement Biology II curriculum when Silver Lake had a two campus high school ( ). He initiated the Boys Soccer Program in 1977 and won the Massachusetts Division 1 State Championship with the 8 th nationally ranked team in Bill received his masters degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Bridgewater State College in 1997 and became the Coordinator of Physical Education, Health and Athletics in He retired in 2010 as the Athletic Director overseeing 46 coaches, 12 activity directors with 26 varsity sports and holds National Certification as a Certified Master Athletic Administrator (CMAA). He is the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Associations Soccer Committee Chairman, an inductee to the Massachusetts Soccer Coaches Hall of Fame and a voting member on the State Committee of the Massachusetts Secondary Schools Athletic Administrators Association. Bill received the Distinguished Service Award for the MIAA in 2010 and was the Massachusetts NIAAA State Award of Merit recipient as well. Johnson is a club soccer coach with the Crusaders United SC in Plymouth Massachusetts. He holds coaching licenses in the USSF C and B levels as well as the NSCAA Advanced National Diploma. His teams in club advanced to the Region 1 Finals in 1999 with two Massachusetts State Cup Championships. He lives in Massachusetts with his wife Lorraine and has 4 children ages Darren Bilberry, Section 2, is an Assistant Commissioner with the Kentucky High School Athletic Association. He has been with the KHSAA since February of Prior to working with the KHSAA, he taught special need children at the high school level and was an assistant football coach. He has also worked for several years in College Athletic Administration at various universities as an Academic Counselor for student-athletes. Darren is a 1990 graduate of the University of Kentucky where he also participated in the sport of football while earning a degree in Journalism. He also received a Master of Science in

2 Education from Kentucky in 2001 as well as a Master of Arts in Education from Georgetown College in Chip Fuller, Section 3, is currently Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Heritage High School in Maryville, Tennessee. He has worked in education and athletic administration for 18 years. Chip has been an active TSSAA referee since He has been a USSF referee since 1989 where he currently holds a grade 5 badge in Tennessee. He has been a NISOA referee since 1994, and National NISOA referee since He has been selected to referee at the high school state tournament in Tennessee for the past 12 years, and has been privileged to referee the state final during the boy s season the past three years. He was selected to referee at the USSF Youth Regional Tournament 11 out of the last 13 years. This year was in the crew for a NCAA Sweet-16 game at South Carolina. Chip has also coached at the recreation, club, and high school level for 11 years before devoting full time to administration and refereeing. He currently holds a D coaching license with USSF and a NSCA National Diploma. He worked at and oversaw all year operations for a soccer camp at UNC Chapel Hill from He has been a USSF instructor since Beth Sauser, Section 4, joined the staff of the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) August 1, 1999, as Assistant Executive Director. She is the 24th person to serve on the administrative staff and is the tenth female administrator in the history of the organization. Since her arrival at the IHSA she has been the Administrator for Boys and Girls Soccer. Her other responsibilities currently include Girls Basketball, Boys and Girls Water Polo, Do What s Right! Program, Student Advisory Committee, Student Conferences as well as Emerging Sports. In the past she was also the administrator in charge of Tennis and Swimming. Ms. Sauser (née Beth Hasenmiller) played on the 1985 Elgin (St. Edward) Class A girls state basketball championship team, earning all-tournament honors as a sophomore. A year later, she led her team to third place and again was an all-tournament selection. She was named allstate in basketball both her junior and senior years. At DePaul University, Beth played four years and captained the women's team She was named DePaul's outstanding senior in athletics in 1991 and earned All-American mention. Graduating from DePaul in 1991 with a degree in marketing & management, Ms. Sauser earned a Masters in Education and Administration from Dominican University in May, In 1994, she joined the staff at River Forest (Trinity) High School as athletic director and head basketball coach. During her tenure as athletic director at Trinity, the number of varsity sports offered was increased from seven to nine, the coaching staff was increased from 11 to 28, a physical wellness department including staff trainer and conditioning coach was created, and summer sports camps in basketball, tennis and cross country were initiated.

3 Beth and her husband, Mike are parents of sons Jack, Luke and Matt. David Maier, Section 5, is a 1981 graduate of the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He currently lives with his wife Geri in Bismarck, ND. David has a son attending the University of Minnesota Dental School and a Daughter attending Creighton Dental School. David currently serves as the head of the Bismarck Mandan soccer referees association. He is also a member of the North Dakota state referee committee. David serves as the soccer clinician for the North Dakota High School activities association. He holds referee certifications from USSF, NISOA, & NDHSAA. He also has a USSF D coaching license and serves on the Dakota United Soccer Club s Board of directors. Peter Contreras, Section 6, joined the Texas University Interscholastic League in August of He is an Assistant Athletic Director for the UIL and is the administrator for wrestling, soccer and golf currently. In the past he has also be the administrator in charge of cross country, swimming and diving, baseball and softball. Contreras is also a past member of the NFHS Softball Rules Committee and the NFHS Swimming and Diving Rules Committee. Prior to joining the UIL, Peter was the sports information director at Stephen F. Austin State University and Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University). He is a graduate of San Marcos High School and Southwest Texas State University (B.A. and Masters). Dawain Wheatley, Section 7, is the father of two daughters and four sons, all soccer players and has been married to wife, Susan, for twenty eight years. He attended high school in Utah, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts, graduating from Chicopee Comprehensive High School in Chicopee, Massachusetts. His father was a career Air Force officer. He loves to travel, spend time outdoors, canoe, and follow the children, with Susan, all over the place to their soccer matches. Dawain attended college at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, earning a BS in Elementary Education in He taught elementary school for nine years at Valley View Elementary in Roy, Utah and then earned his secondary certification through BYU and began teaching at Wasatch High School in Heber City, Utah in the fall of He teaches Advanced Placement United States History, AP American Government, American Government, and Geography. He has been registered with the Boy Scouts of America for over 29 years as an adult leader and is presently a Cub Master. He began playing soccer at Portsmouth High School (Portsmouth, NH) his sophomore year of high school, playing for two seasons before moving to Chicopee, Massachusetts. He also played his freshmen year at BYU before leaving on a church mission to Australia for two years. He has played soccer for over 36 years, coached youth soccer for over 31 years He was an assistant coach at Roy High School in Roy, Utah for five years and has been the head boys soccer coach at Wasatch HS for twenty-one years and the head girls soccer coach for nineteen years. He has earned the NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and is a certified USSF soccer official (grade 8).

4 Patrick Duffy, Section 8, lives in Beaverton OR. He is a graduate of Jesuit High School, Occidental College and Harvard University s Graduate School of Business Administration. Patrick has been President of American Machine & Gear, Inc. in Portland OR since His wife, Gail, is a CPA and teaches at Wilson High School in the Portland Public Schools. Patrick has been a USSF and high school soccer referee since He has been a NISOA referee since Through 2010, Patrick has refereed 2,500 soccer games at all levels below full internationals. He is currently a USSF grade 6 referee. Besides his on-field experience, Patrick is a USSF State Assessor and a NISOA Regional Assessor. In 2005, he was honored as the most inspirational assessor at the US Youth Soccer Region IV Championships. Patrick is a USSF Referee Instructor and has done many presentations at referee clinics. Referee magazine frequently publishes articles he has written about officiating soccer. Patrick is the USSF State Referee Administrator (SRA) for Oregon. He previously served as the Professionalism Chair, where he dealt with complaints about referee misconduct. Since 2005, he has been the State Rules Interpreter for the Oregon School Activities Association. Previously, he coached youth soccer for over 10 years. In 1989, he obtained his USSF D level coaching license. Patrick has been president of two youth soccer clubs and one league. He is or has been a member of the board of both the Oregon Youth Soccer Association and the Oregon Adult Soccer Association. Patrick has also played in the local adult leagues. In addition to his involvement in soccer, he has been a high school and college track & field official for 17 years and served for eight years as an elected member of the board of the Beaverton School District. Patrick currently serves on the board of DePaul Industries and the Portland chapter of Legatus. Patrick s older daughter, Marlene Duffy, is an International Assistant Referee, who officiated at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Doug Epps, NFHS Officials Association, is the father of 3 daughters, all soccer players and has been married to his wife, Barbara, for thirty nine years. He attended high school in St. Joseph, MO and graduated from Central High School. He attended Missouri Western College and Creighton University where he obtained a certificate of applied computer science. He loves working on his computer, amateur radio and spending time with his 7 grandkids and 1 step grandson. Doug started refereeing in Currently, he is a grade 5 USSF referee, a Nebraska certified high school referee, area coordinator for region VIII for NISOA and an emeritus National Intercollegiate Soccer Official Association referee. In addition to refereeing, Doug is also the NFHS rules interpreter for the state of Nebraska, USSF assessor, State Youth Referee Administrator (SYRA) and a USSF instructor. Doug also started the high school referee observation program for the state of Nebraska, which is used to assign the referees for the state tournament.

5 Doug is currently employed as a program manager for Lockheed Martin. Ron Pietila, Section, NFHS Coaches Association, is a retired educator and athletic director currently serving as Boys & Girls Playoffs Director for the California Interscholastic Federation-San Diego Section and as a member of the CIF Southern California Regional Soccer Advisory Committee. Additionally in 1981 he founded, and every year has directed, the Bonita Vista High School Girls Soccer Tournament (Barons). NFHS named him Section 7 Soccer Coach of the Year in His B.S. Degree and California Teaching Credential were earned concurrently in 1971 at San Diego State University. Ron and wife Kathi have three daughters and seven grandchildren, all who have played organized soccer. The Pietilas live in Chula Vista, California.
