Notre Dame ranks among the top 10 PhD-granting institutions for undergraduate study abroad participation. 6 DEEPER ENGAGEMENT FOR GLOBAL AWARENESS... BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM Students who give the most to their study abroad experience tend to get the most back and bring the most to future employers, graduate programs, and charitable organizations. Consider supplementing your study abroad experience: Internships: Some programs are connected with internship opportunities. Some are coordinated through host institutions, but many are coordinated through the Career Center. Visit GoIrish to learn more. Research: In addition to applying to Kennedy Scholars (London), International Scholars (Rome), and Global Business Scholars (Singapore, Milan, and South Bend), ask your academic advisors and program staff how you can access local resources, archives, and other research materials either for classes abroad or to get a jump start on your senior thesis. Service: Students participate in a wide variety of community engagement opportunities in almost every program location. Discuss your options with Study Abroad program advisors before you leave and on-site host staff once you arrive. Get in touch with the relevant Study Abroad program manager with locationspecific questions.

7 7 TAKING THE NEXT STEP AM I ELIGIBLE? Academic standing and adherence to community standards are among the factors for eligibility, as is program appropriateness for your academic goals. HOW MUCH WILL IT COST? Tuition, room, partial board and worldwide health insurance are covered for semester and full-year programs. Students are responsible for a Study Abroad fee and pay for round-trip airfare to program locations. Charges vary for summer programs and those taken during vacation periods. HOW DO I APPLY? Students apply for semester and full-year programs during the preceding fall. Applications are entered online at myndabroad and students must plan ahead to give advisors, rectors, and academic referees time to submit their information. The application deadline for programs is November 15, WHAT NEXT?
